Hello everyone, good morning and Happy Tuesday! Today seeing as we’re a little further into December I figured I’d share some more holiday cheer on Meg Says in the form of a song. Sufjan Steven’s “Come on! Let’s Boogey to the Elf Dance!” just happens to be one of my favorites, it’s upbeat, catchy, and witty. Plus, it’s featured on his lengthy Songs for Christmas album. When I say lengthy, I mean it – this one has five discs with more than two hours of music! You can actually listen to the songs here on the website, how awesome is that?! Also, I should share in November Sufjan released the follow-up to this album, Silver & Gold which you can also listen to on the website here!
Obviously I have my favorite lines of this song, and here they are:
“Mistletoe hangs, up in the bedroom
Your sister’s bangs, she cut them herself
Santa is here sleighbells are ringing
Twenty-one elves, they are all singing
K-Mart is closed, so is the bakery
Everyone’s at home, watching TV”
Of course, someone made a cute video and put it on YouTube so you can hear the song here:
