“It’s always your favorite sins, that do you in.”
Kenny and Grace may have a point. Don’t we all have those quirks in our lives that we categorize as habit, and decide we’re stuck with forever? You know, the things you really actually enjoy doing, but know you shouldn’t, and every time is going to be the last? No? Just me? Yeah, I didn’t think so. Over indulging, lust, jealousy, they’re all such prevalent behaviors in our everyday lives. Maybe we don’t even always actually realize what we’re doing until we sit down and think about our actions. I’m an introspective person, almost to the point of ridiculousness. While this may not be healthy, I definitely know exactly what I’m doing, before I do it, even when I know better.
Whether it be the extra drink, opening your mouth to gossip, envying your best friend’s new job, flirting with the cute guy at the bar who clearly has a girlfriend, all the extras, we’re probably all guilty every once in a while.
Once upon a time, good ole Meredith Grey told us:
“When you were a kid, it was Halloween candy. You hid it from your parents and you ate it until you got sick. In college, it was the heavy combo of youth, tequila and well, you know. As a surgeon, you take as much of the good as you can get because it doesn’t come around nearly as often as it should. ‘Cause good things aren’t always what they seem. Too much of anything, even love, is not always a good thing.”
So, enjoy the good stuff, but don’t over do it because what’s better is having enough but not waking up the next morning feeling sick, or full of regret.
